Wholly owned mining and oil & gas services subsidiary of Actuant, heavy lift and mooring industry. As finance manager I was responsible for month-end close, financial analysis, payroll, Australian annual report for ASIC, and statutory audit in Australia. I reported to the Group Chief Financial Officer in the headquarters in Wisconsin, USA, and Managing Director in Australia. I managed two Accountants and two Accounting Clerks.Finance Manager, Australia• Successfully designed $25M AFE business plan for mining heavy-lift segment that resulted in ROI above 25% and payback within 4 years (minimum requirement for AFE was 20% ROI and 5 year payback)• Successfully implemented financial analysis initiatives under Continuous Improvement Methodology including variance analysis (budget to actual, year on year and swing schedules), sales mix analysis, inventory turnover, and cash flow analysis. Results: improvements business segment communication, business and sales decisions, supply chain purchases, improved cash flow efficiency, and improved budgeting / forecasts.• Successfully implemented ERP system (MYOB EXO) in Australia and integrated into worldwide Hyperion reporting • Successfully proved to PWC auditors and internal auditors that Australian internal controls were Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliant and the weighted-average inventory methodology was calculated properly preventing a costly change in inventory accounting.• Successfully changed corporate culture to align with worldwide policies and procedures. Bibra Lake office was originally a small company purchased by an overseas company. Communication with both Australian and US personnel was vital.
