David McMichen is an accomplished Certified Safety Professional and leader. Most recently, David was selected as a Principal Consultant for Dekra North America Strategic Consulting. Prior to Dekra, David was a Sr. Director of SH&E within Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. Of note, David was named Director of Health & Safety for Georgia Power Company where he led efforts to successfully transform the company's safety culture, implement world class initiatives and lead the company to its best year ever in overall safety performance in 2019. Previously David was a Vice President of EHS for Skanska and a Senior EHS Manager for URS (now AECOM). He has been a key player in the safety process and success on several large heavy construction projects and managed the safety and health programs in/on power plants (fossil/gas/nuclear) in modifications, maintenance and construction. At Skanska, David led the Midwest to their safest year ever in 2014. With URS, David was a member of the Power Group’s Safety Leadership Team and served on the company’s Project Review Board. He is a multiple recipient of the ES&H President’s Award for ES&H program management and three-time Pyramid Award winner for excellence in safety performance. He has also helped projects earn the AGC Michigan Outstanding Safety Performance Award, Michigan Construction Users Council Safe Project of the Year Award and the Milwaukee Construction Industry Safety Council Perfect Project Safety Award. David is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Professionals where he completed certification for the Executive Program in Safety Management and is a past CURT and TAUC Safety Committee member. David holds a Master's degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix and has completed the course work for a second Master's degree in Environmental, Health & Safety Management from the University of Findlay.
