My role at AAM was a mixture of manual testing and maintaining the end to end automation test suit for our software products. The product was Python based and deployed in microservices hosted in the Amazon Web Service and employed via Docker deployments. Interactions were with RESTful API end points using tools such as Postman.

My role at LVS was a mixture of manual testing initially then moving on to develop automated tests using Selenium and Jmeter to test front end functionality and performance respectively. These were created from scratch for a software test team that had not used automated scripts before. The software was a sports betting platform, requiring stability under surges of customer load when major sports tournaments was on. As the product was sold under various front ends to differing international clients a great deal of testing had to be performed for localisations of language and laws.

Due to the small size of the team and the need for constant retesting. I initiated a system of using Eclipse and Selenium Webdriver to create automation scripts for some of our larger products. Having a lot of previous experience with automation I was able to judge when a project was large enough with enough interactions to warrant the time investment to gain time saving from automation scripts (they are not always appropriate.)

My role was to perform an analysis on the software and create scripts that would be used to automate the regression bugs and the manually laborious routine testing needed for every release. Additional to this I was fully engaged in release testing for upgrades and bug fixes and for the creation and monitoring of new bugs including reproducing issues found by clients and creating well defined steps to reproduce for the developers.The product was very mature and used the V-methodology to testing enhancements and upgrades.

I was tasked with creating automation test scripts using TestPartner (a Visual Basic based automation tool and had a junior tester under me to follow our manual test scripts and perform exploratory testing. I was also responsible for creating bugs and following them until the fixes integrated into a new patch or release and creating the weekly test reports.

At Research Machines I worked on networked school software using Windows Server 2000, Windows Server 2003, Active Directory and Sharepoint. These products have been widely released across UK schools to allow collaborative interaction between pupils and for their work to be monitored by teachers.

Newbury

Vodafone was testing the software for a broad variety of mobile platforms to ensure their customers were getting a high-quality experience from their vendor partners. My role in this was to create test cases and turn these into functional test scripts for manual testing.
