Subsequent to the restructure I led the finance team to successfully deliver the first set of consolidated MO Group PLC accounts under IFRS.After successfully delivering the corporate restructure in summer 2008, I then built and led the treasury team which over the next two years completely refinanced £3bn of debt and established Mo Group as a major issuer of bonds in the capital markets. I was appointed Group Treasurer in 2009. The MO Group plc treasury team won the prestigious Association of Corporate Treasurer’s ‘Team of the Year’ award in 2012.At the end of 2015 I took on the full time role of the management of a very significant £100m programme to implement a ALFA leasing system and data warehouse and reporting system This I successfully completed at the end of 2017 prior to leaving Motability to embark on my new portfolio career. -
Finance Director/Head Of Finance/Cfo/Finance ManagerHsbc Bank Plc & Hsbc Rail Ltd Jun 1992 - Sep 2007London & BirminghamI was appointed Head of Finance of HSBC Rail in 1999 (having previously held various finance management roles in HSBC asset finance) and took on all aspects of financial management including the commercial aspects of deal pricing, approvals and structuring. I was responsible for a team of 15 and also had responsibility for IT and HR within the business.In 2002 I was appointed Finance Director of HSBC Rail and also took on directorships of other HSBC Asset Finance directorships following an internal reorganisation. During the ensuing two years I was asked to take on responsibility for a number of other teams within HSBC’s Corporate and Investment Bank culminating in being appointed CFO of the UK Corporate & Investment Bank in 2004. During this period I was involved in the Treasury and funding management of the £6bn HSBC Asset Finance plc balance sheet.In parallel to this increasing regulatory scrutiny of the UK rail industry was gathering momentum and in 2006 my role refocused on HSBC Rail and the ensuring Office of the Rail Regulator and then Competition Commission reviews.
