I am currently a business analyst and software tester for Big Red Book and Big Red Cloud, an accounts and payroll software provider for the SME market. I act as a go between for the development and support teams. My roles include triage of escalated support items, identifying opportunities for improvements, arranging implementation schedules, planning new features, conducting pre-release testing and updating staff on new releases. Previously, I worked in the retail industry for 19 years with Superquinn and SuperValu following their takeover and rebranding of Superquinn. It this time I developed a vast range of experience in roles ranging from sales assistant to department manager to bakery production. I then completed a NFQ Level 8 Honours Bachelor of Social Science in UCD with a joint major in Information & Social Computing and Social Policy, Specialisation in Social Media and a Structured Elective in Social Justice. I finished top of my graduation class in 2018. The degree explored the interaction between people and recorded knowledge in terms of its generation, organisation, and storage, as well as the use of knowledge and information by different individuals and groups. I have studied social policy, social justice, electronic publishing, information management, information retrieval, information use, and metadata. I have also studied the impact of information on public policy, the new knowledge society and the media revolution. Specialist modules I have taken include new technologies, culture and communication, web publishing, computer architecture, and creating and publishing digital media content.
