Currently I am the Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition. In this role I lead a team of dedicated Peer Based Professionals in advocating for all professional peer based services in Pennsylvania. We represent the voice of Certified Peer Specialists, Certified Recovery Specialists, Certified Family Recovery Specialists, and all others delivering peer services. In addition to advocacy, we have also developed and deliver a number of trainings for peer professionals on topics including ethics, crises services, the LGBTQ+ community, and documentation. We are always working to enhance the support we provide to Peer Based Professionals.Prior to this opportunity I was employed as a Certified Peer Specialist at Recovery InSight in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Executive DirectorPennsylvania Peer Support Coalition Jul 2015 - PresentPennsylvania, United StatesThe Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition (PaPSC) has seen continued growth over the past six years. My original involvement started as a Board member at a time when the Coalition had no budget and no staff. In 2015 the PaPSC received some state funding to create a "skill enhancement" training for Pennsylvania Certified Peer Specialists (CPS) to learn skills necessary to work with individuals in a mental health crisis. I resigned from the Board at this time and became the lead developer of this training.Over time my duties have expanded into fulfilling the role of Executive Director. Since 2015 we have diversified our funding streams from a single source (the state) to include revenue from memberships, trainings, grants, fundraising, etc. We now have five individuals on payroll and are always working to expand the scope and influence of the PaPSC.The PaPSC exists, and we do the work that we do, in order to represent all of the amazing peer professionals in Pennsylvania who are using their lived experiences with mental health and substance use challenges to support others on a journey of recovery. We do this by acting as the voice of peer based professionals to state government agencies, county authorities, insurance companies, provider agencies, and any other entities that are involved in peer services. We also support Pennsylvania peer professionals by creating networking opportunities and delivering trainings.I am looking forward to the continued growth of the Coalition and peer services and whatever part I may play in this march forward.

I provided encouragement, support and resources that allowed the individual to be successful in achieving their goals which then led to them becoming independent, contributing members of their communities. I also supervised other CPSs in our office, meeting with them for a minimum of one hour per week to discuss the previous week.
