Faculty Member in the Program for Communication Excellence.Produce articles of literary analysis for leading academic journals. Develop and implement core curriculum of the program. Teach three classes per semester covering college writing and communication. Work directly with students to improve their writing and public speaking skills by leading group discussions and class exercises. Evaluate students' writing and speaking and provide constructive feedback on their work. Key Achievements:Published multiple articles in top-notch, peer-reviewed journals, including African American Review and American Transcendental Quarterly.Contributed book reviews for Western American Literature.Developed the core curriculum of the Communications Department since its inception in 2006.Received the Robert Lowery Patten Award for University Service.Classes have the highest rate of student enrolment in the department.

Developed content and produced copy for redesigned website that functions as the principle interface between the center and the University’s student body. Provided feedback on the visual appeal and ease of use of the site and suggested improvements. Generated scripts for video portions of the site. Wrote outgoing literature promoting new site to employers and Rice affiliates.

Maintained the Center’s web-site and generated new content. Provided articles for the Center’s Newsletter. Assisted in the daily operations of the Center and worked to increase the Center’s visibility within the Rice campus and the Houston community. Generated publicity for incoming speakers and assisted in making their travel arrangements. Maintained contact with multiple departments as well as various humanities centers both on and off campus. Helped to develop and implement new HRC sponsored programs.
