I always thought my career will only have to be aligned with my current qualifications which are in counseling and psychology. After some time, I realized that it felt disconnected from my inner aspirations. I needed to step out of my comfort zone and venture into an unknown area. Just then, I discovered a double major degree in psychology and criminology being offered under Murdoch University. It was like an "Aha" moment for me.Since young, I had a keen interest to watch documentaries or reading on criminal behaviour. I strongly believe that every individual should not be judged based on their past and deserves a second chance in life. Being a criminologist, I am able to match my interest by studying crime in order to reduce and prevent it and assist people to recover from their past mistakes to lead a better life. Drawing inferences from my personal and professional life, I begin to discover more about myself:I constantly adapt approaches to be a better person- I keep learning new things to upgrade myself and increase my knowledge- In times of challenges, I learn to stay calm to find a solution- I give importance to responsibility and make sure that I complete what is assigned to me dutifully. Excellent team player- I can work with almost anyone regardless of race, nationality, or cultural background.- I display positivity, where I learn to inspire and get inspired by others.Given my current field of study, my passion, values, and skill sets which are aligned perfectly to the role of a criminologist, I believe that I can add value to the work of the organization and make a positive difference in the life of ex-criminals. "If any of the above caught your attention, let's talk!"
