David first worked as an intern at Power Engineering in 1991. He was impressed with a construction method used at an air hanger at Moffett Field. Rather than setting up scaffolding to rebuild the roof trusses, the workers rappelled from the ceiling. This innovative approach to construction is what drew him to Power Engineering and continues to inspire him today. As a leader in Heavy Civil and Marine Construction, David strives to incorporate exceptional creativity and hands-on experience to complex construction projects. David officially joined Power in 1992, has been a partner since 1997, and has held positions from Project Engineer to his current position as President. David directs all day-to-day operations at Power with high priority given to maintaining the company’s commitment to its values and culture. He is also focused on expanding Power Engineering’s presence in the marine and commercial dive markets. His lifetime of marine activities, education, and naval experience make him a tremendous asset to this part of the business. He is especially insightful at solving construction challenges in and around sensitive marine environments. David earned his B.S. in Marine Engineering from Massachusetts Maritime Academy, spent four years on active duty as a US Naval Officer, and earned his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University.

(Formerly Power Engineering Contractors, Inc.) 1997 - 2011David was the Project Manager for the Exploratorium Marine Structural Upgrades project in San Francisco, CA. Started in June 2010 the $51 Million dollar contract consisted of structural upgrades to an existing pier. Construction included installation of several seismic caps including 72” steel pipe piles, underwater pile repairs, concrete spall repairs, precast pier sections, new concrete beams, above water pile repairs, and structural timber. The key component for success of this project came down to two things: being able to adapt to differing site conditions and assisting the owners and design team with the re‐design of the pile repairs to accommodate a large increase in quantities while maintaining the schedule and costs. He has also been involved in various marine projects including, but not limited, to the Chevron Long Wharf, WETA South San Francisco Ferry Terminal, Stockton Marina and Promenade, Concord Naval Weapons Station (Pier 3&4), San Francisco Public Utilities Projects, Stockton Channel Improvements, the Ferry Building, Pier One Re‐Construction and the China Basin Landing Wharf.
