I joined Shamokin Carbons in late November. This industry is a new endeavor for me after spending 30 years in the Textile Industry. I have previously held lab, QC and production departmental management experience. This industry actually takes me back to my college years, as I majored in Geochemistry.At Shamokin Carbons, I oversee the quality testing of both incoming raw materials and finished product. There are both physical and chemical criteria to be reviewed to determine the proper application of raw materials to our products, and the quality of our finished products.I am also involved in the formulation of our production, as to insure the proper physical and chemical outcome of our product line.

At Milco Industries, I was Head Dyer and Lab Manager. My responsibilities included directly overseeing the first shift dyeing operation and managing the dyeing on the off shifts. I was responsible for scheduling dyeing production for all shifts, purchasing and evaluation of all dyestuffs and dyeing auxiliaries, troubleshooting technical processing problems and overseeing the quality and customer service lab.

I was the second shift dyer. My responsibilities included overseeing both dying and drying production, color matching and customer service lab dye submits.

Scranton, Pa

I oversaw all lab activities, both dye and physical testing and managed three shifts of production, with three shift supervisors and forty-five hourly employees.I was responsible for all product evaluation and establishment of manufacturing procedures within the department, coordinated production scheduling with other departments and worked with quality control to track and eliminate the causes of defective product. I also handled all department purchasing.
