In January 2015 my job was TUPE'd from Synergy to WNS Assistance (including full length of service), my job title, role and general day to day activity are in essence the same then as they are now.Responsible for supporting the company itself and it's clients, primarily for server and network support as part of the Systems team, occasionally dealing with technical support issues when needed.Tasks include the following:* The maintenance, installation, configuration and upgrading of hardware and software.* The maintenance, installation, configuration and upgrading of the network infrastructure.* The maintenance, installation, and configuration of two Azure environments.* Supporting Windows Server 2000 through to Windows Server 2012.* Supporting Windows server 2003 AD Domains and Windows Server 2008 AD Domains.* Supporting Microsoft Exchange 2003 and Office 365 (Exchange Online)* Report writing following completion of applicable tasks.* Software and hardware documentation.* Full backup administrator.* Mitel Phone system configuration and administration.

Starting off in a Technical Support role I was responsible for the following as part of the Technical Support team, this was not only for Synergy themselves but for a number of outsourced clients;* Supporting client sites both physically and remotely, whilst working on projects and handling helpdesk calls at the head office.* General support of all PC users and those users that connect remotely.* The maintenance, installation, configuration and upgrading of hardware and software.* Supporting Windows 98, 2000 and XP workstations, and Windows NT and Windows 2000/2003 servers.* Supporting Microsoft Office 97, 2000 and 2003, with knowledge of many other Microsoft products. Support of Microsoft Outlook and Lotus Notes as the 2 main e-mail systems.* Complete build of PC’s. (desktop and laptop) Both hardware and software.* Report writing following completion of applicable tasks and software documentation.* Installation of networked peripherals (printers, scanners, faxes), with follow up support.* Network support, fault finding on hubs, routers and cables.* Arranging visits by engineers for advanced technical assistance* Conference room setup, including laptop to projector, and tele-conference equipment.* Responsible for backups, including the backing up, restores, offsite storage of media and maintenance of the server tape drives.In November 2007 I was promoted to the role of Systems Support Engineer, as part of the Systems team I was then responsible for the same sort of work that I am now with WNS Assistance.

Working onsite at ICI in Stowmarket, providing support for the three companies located there, ICI, PPG and TDG.Supporting the site in a team of two. Day to day work was generally carried out whilst working on my own. Working as a team for bigger problems, or for project work.General support of all PC users on site, and those that connect remotely.The maintenance, installation, configuration and upgrading of hardware and software.Supporting Windows 3.11, 95, 98, NT 3.51 and 4.0, 2000 and XP workstations, and Windows NT and Windows 2000/2003 servers.
