I was assigned to the Street Crime Unit as a plain clothes constable responsible for conducting investigations regarding property crime and drug crime. My roles included the drug vault custodian, warrant writer, and team member.

Currently assigned to the major crime section, where I have numerous tasks not limited to, monitor the activities of other officers at crime scenes and in relation to assigned investigations as required by the complexity of investigations. Coordinate and conduct investigations, arrest offenders and prepare cases for court in relation to primarily serious criminal offences, sudden deaths and other incidents as assigned. Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, Policy and Procedures, CALEA, and the adequacy standards regulation.Research, prepare and present reports pertaining to specific Service related issues.Work as part of an investigative team in relation to major, protracted investigations.Participate in various committees as required.Carry out duties in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Police Services Act and other lawful assignments.Review the current policies as they relate to Critical Incident Stress Management, Employee Assistance Program, and the Wellness Committee, and work towards creating a Peer Support Program, as well as combine the relevant policies into one all encompassing program that will assist employees as they relate to operational stress and post traumatic stress.
