I am a professor of economics focusing on regulation. I am also the director of the Institute for the Study of Political Economy. I am interested in regulatory burden particularly at the state level. Lately, I've been focusing on the impact of regulation on entrepreneurship and the impact of scope of practice regulation. Specialties: State and local policy, public finance, public choice, regulatory burden, scope of practice, growth of government, and data analysis.I have broad experience in all aspects of teaching economics. I've taught most of the courses that would be taught in a standard curriculum. In addition to chalk and talk I use classroom experiments extensively.
