At present I am working voluntarily at Westcroft Community Centre where my duties include: Supervising a Job Club where, along with other volunteers I assist clients in C.V. creation, re-evaluating their existing skills, experience and abilities with a view to encouraging them to consider alternative forms of emlpoyment. This also includes helping them wiht online job searching. I also design and deliver IT courses as and when they are required at Westcroft and it's associated venues. I also teach ESOL / English online using Skype and various other on-line teaching sites.My main background is in computing: computer communications (networking) , repairing, testing and installation. I hold various level 2 and level 3 computer related certificates, a 7307 Further and Adult Education Teaching certificate, a level 5 TEFL and a first aid training certificate.My IT expeirence comes from a number of years working as a computer technician / supervisor where I was repairing, configuring and testing various items of computer equipment in addition to training new employees. I also held a position as a network administrator in a secondary school maintaining a network of 175 computers adding an additional 50 at the behest of the local education authority.My teaching and training experience is drawn from a number of years working as a private tutor designing and delivering personalised courses, training in industry and teaching RSA CLAIT and ECDL courses at adult education establishments.My methods are friendly and relaxed and that encourages interaction between students and myself as a tutor. Learning should be fun which encourages a willingness to learn which leads to improved student / tutor interaction. I am currently working towards more online tutoring and looking forwrd to the challenges this presents.
