Based in the Centre for Transformative Learning (CTL), David works as UL Project Lead on the Irish Universities Association (IUA) Enhancing Digital Teaching & Learning (EDTL) project. David works closely with staff, programme teams, and disciplines across all academic faculties to enhance their digital capacity, confidence, and competence by devising and facilitating professional development opportunities and providing mentorship where necessary. By addressing the professional development of all who teach and support teaching & learning related activities, David seeks to mainstream the appropriate, competent and confident use of digital technologies in order to improve students' digital learning experiences and achieve pedagogical aims. As part of a collaborative programme of offerings between the Glucksman Library, CTL and the IT Division at UL, his work has also focused on facilitating online workshops to enhance students digital competences and skills.

• Co-ordinate large projects at a modular and programmatic level on behalf of the Blended Learning Unit• Co-ordinate mini-projects and pilot schemes with faculty, staff and students in a timely manner at an institutional level• Co-ordinate tasks and projects at an inter-institutional and National level with other key project stakeholders• Administrate Moodle Virtual Learning Environment, Mahara ePortfolio system and Adobe Connect web conferencing system at an institutional level• Design, schedule and deliver professional development training on a wide range of educational technologies• Provide trouble-shooting and problem-solving support and a consultation service to faculty, professional services and administrative staff, and students• Design and develop quick reference guides and videos to aid with commonly experienced problems• Work directly with faculty to support the integration of educational technologies into their class settings• Liaise with faculty and staff to collaboratively design, develop and implement new blended learning programmes, modules and resources adhering to relevant communication, design, instructional and learning principles• Evaluate blended learning practices in a higher education context with a focus on publication of analysis and findings• Test and evaluate current and emerging educational technologies• Develop online and blended learning policies
