My main duties involve working on the development and large scale synthesis of a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients, including highly controlled substances, as part of the technical team. In addition to developing viable, commercial processes to the desired API in a cGMP manufacturing environment, liaising with clients and producing formal technical reports, I am also responsible for providing technical support to processes on both the pilot plant and plant scales.

Phd Student Chemistry And Chemical Engineering
My interdisciplinary project focused on developing clean, efficient, environmentally friendly and selective electro-synthetic routes to 18F radiopharmaceuticals for use in the medical imaging technique, positron emission tomography (PET). We aimed to do this by developing new electrochemical fluorination protocols that utilise mild sources of fluoride ions as the fluorine source. In addition to this specific application, fluorinated organics have found use in bioactive molecules and a range of materials allowing the impact of atom efficient syntheses of these key molecular building blocks to be widespread.
