Projects included but are not limited to, Tunnel boring machine worker, tunnel rescue - Shepperd Subway, 407 bridge construction, high rise forming and construction, low rise development, flat roofing, asphalt paver - road construction, sewer and watermain, miner asbestos industry, extensive on the tools work.Left the tools on May 18th, 2000, had the long weekend off and began as a Safety Consultant on May 23rd, 2000, where I have worked without break ever since.I believe strongly in competency in construction safety supervision, as it is critical for prevention purposes. My extensive on the job knowledge, training and experience ensure that I am competent to supervise a construction project.My list of successfully completed construction projects is quite extensive. I have supervised millions of man hours and billions of dollars of work with great success.My prevention based methods are proven, with zero written orders from the Ontario Ministry of Labour in 3.5 years at Westbank Developments, Shangri-La Hotel and zero critical injuries in more than 12 years.The incredibly low project accident and incident rates achieved is based on something very simple.I care deeply for people and I love this job. I believe completely, that "everything" that can be done, can be done in a safe manner, accidents do not have to happen and ensuring this, is the best job on the planet.The years I have spent working on the tools and then monitoring the work and its performance as a Health & Safety person have given me a keen perspective of the next step in many different construction processes. Knowing the next step is critical in prevention.If I have one negative thing to say about this work is the number of H&S professionals who are not legally competent to supervise or manage the work they are overseeing.
