Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Linux and MySQL servers. Analyzes and resolves problems associated with server OS, hardware, applications, and software. Monitors systems performance and ensures compliance with security standards. Must maintain the highest level of customer service and communication. Serves as a project resource where applicable. Responsibilities / Duties: Installation, configuration, management and maintenance of Linux servers such as Apache web servers, application servers, database servers and file servers. Work with developers to architect platforms which enable and enhance applications. Research, test and recommend new software or applications based on future capacity and scaling forecasts. Monitor system performance and plan for future capacity and scaling. Devise and implement strategy for high-availability and clustering solutions for various servers and environments such as NFS, Database and general iScsi volumes. Develop, implement and maintain security policies for all Linux and MySQL database server. Verify security protocols are in place for all Linux and MySQL database servers. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures and standards. Verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Perform ongoing performance tuning and resource optimization

Sept. 2007-Present - Senior Analyst - Macy’s MST (Portland, TN)I developed Intranet process for logistic users to submit move/add/change equipment request for all Macy’s distributions centers. Monitoring of all invoice and production printing for the Macys Portland Distribution Center was created by me. Network monitoring was done with Perl scripts and tools like PRTG. This was also setup in 2 other major Macy’s locations in Arizona and West Virginia. This program would allow routine maintenance to be scheduled and show the status of each printer. Involved with other Macys D2C sites with using the programs I have developed to monitor MST equipment. Numerous programs developed by me are used to help MST Analyst to support equipment at different locations on the Macys network. Installed, maintained, and operated VMWARE ESXi servers for the D2C site. As a Senior Analyst for the South D2C team I have been involved with Windows 8 Hypervisor installations to all Macy’s Stores. I participated in a very important role with the opening of two major Macys D2C sites. These sites are being modeled after the Portland D2C facility which is my location. While working for Macys MST I received experience with the following;--Layer 2 and 3 networks – All Cisco equipment (Migration from Layer2 to Layer3 network was done.)--Wireless Lan Controllers – Cisco Access Points (Converted 130 standalone access points to controller)--VMAWARE ESXi 4.1 and Hypervision – Utilize 2 Unix host(MAC process, intranet monitoring unix host)--Windows Server 2003-2012 – File services, DHCP, DNS, third party services--Windows 7 – 8 – Client workstations (provide end user support on laptops and desktops)--Cisco Prime Call Center (Installed Cisco IP phones from Rolm CO Switch)– Call Manager used for changes--LINUX/PERL – IFS support tools created to help Analyst within Macys.

Support new Unix server hardware and medical software provider. Migrated office environment from a UNIX host to an Active Directory network. Installed and maintain 2008 server and helped support the IMS software provider for the paperless solution. Mar. 1990–2007 Network Admin/Desktop Supervisor for Palm Beach Newspapers, Inc (West Palm Beach, Fl) (A COX Newspapers Company)1st 3 years - Hired as a telecommunications tech - Repairing PBX circuit boards, support data processing with repairing computers, installed telecom equipment. I started the first 3-digit number 511 audiotext information service for Palm Beach Post. Next 14 years - Hired into Data processing were I got involved with servers, more network design, and desktop Support. The department System Support was created and I became the Network Supervisor. I was sent to school for Cisco, Sun, and Perl. I enjoy using Perl and Php when working in Unix. I designed the first intranet HELPDESK which is still being used for trouble tickets. I developed a Nextel paging tool for carriers to receive pages from mainframe. The Palm Beach Post Network grew and so did my duties. Support was for remote sites using Metro Ethernet and Frame Relay circuits going to 16 remote sites.
