Bv Shale/Etch (Wf) Reservoir Engineer, Buena Vista Reservoir Management Team
Bakersfield, California, United States
- Performed reservoir engineering research and studies to support life of the field development plans, full-field history matching, simulation, production forecasting and screened projects for EOR opportunities (CMG/tNav/Petrel/MBAL).- Proposed and completed drilling projects (Vertical, Horizontal) and workovers in unconventional (Antelope Shale) and conventional fields (Etchegoin Sands, primary and waterflood) within Buena Vista field.- Performed green field reservoir characterization & evaluation using RTA/PTA, material balance & seismic at the exploration phase to de-risk future drilling locations and optimize well D&C designs, facilities size and configuration.- Leader of cross functional reservoir surveillance on weekly basis, collecting and interpreting data (ex: production history, pump plots, injection surveys, fluid shots) to generate expense and capital workover inventory, proactively addressing problems (Ex: Vertical conformance, aereal sweep, field/pattern HCPVI, injectivity)- Designed workovers to enhance/stimulate production and injection completions (acid, coil tubing, perforations), remediate wellbores (cement squeeze, sidetracks) and optimize artificial lift designs (ESP, Rod pump, PCP, Gas lift)- Developed data acquisition plans with Geologist and Geophysicist for reservoir studies (seismic, logs, cores, SCAL) including project goals and cost estimates with outside contractors.- Supported team business planning efforts, assuring ValNav (economics & reserves model) is consistent with current depletion, approved wedge investment, probable/possible reserve cases, and contains appropriate drilling and investment well work project data with SEC guidelines.- Developed data driven approach to target horizontal wells in shale formations and successfully implemented into drilling capital program and wells steering methodology.
