About Hernan David Moreno-Rueda

Portfolio: https://hdmorenor97.wixsite.com/david-moreno-persona/blogI love building things that can help make processes more efficient and improve people's quality of life. That's what drove me into mechatronics engineering. I am an ever-learning and passionate mechatronics engineer. I completed my bachelor's at Universidad Nacional de Colombia. My interests are 3D printing, robotics, manufacturing, and mechatronics design. I gained some experience in hydraulic systems and reliability engineering through an internship at Schlumberger Surenco. Later on, I was a visiting scholar at Purdue University, where I designed a prototype of a low-cost wheelchair for babies. This project gave me some hands-on experience on mechatronics design. Nowadays, I am a first-year master's student at the Purdue Polytechnic Institute, where I have learn on IoT for Smart Manufacturing and ROS through a project for anomaly detection in a pick-and-place cobot. At the same time, I am a research assistant in the Adaptive Additive Technologies Lab (AATL), where I manufacture soft actuators with embedded smart sensors. My after work/school hours are dedicated to share and learn from my family, friends and colleagues.I also enjoy playing Badminton and Soccer. Through sports I have found a way to be disciplined and persistent with my objectives.
