Media relations surrounding the regulation of UK workplace pension schemes. I specialise in the defined benefit landscape, including high profile cases and communicating policies and guidance for trustees. This involves horizon scanning to predict potential issues of media interest, planning approaches, making recommendations to management about media strategies, drafting materials and of course daily contact with the media.TPR makes sure that employers put their staff into a pension scheme and pay money into it. We also make sure that workplace pension schemes are run properly so that people can save safely for their later years.

From September 2014 to May 2015 I handled proactive and reactive media relations for the Education & Skills portfolio, primarily being the Deputy Minister for Skills & Technology's press officer.Prior to this I worked on a series of portfolios: Communities & Tackling Poverty, Environment & Sustainable Development, Heritage and Health.The Communities & Tackling Poverty portfolio was the first of its kind for a UK government and I was press officer for Vaughan Gething, Deputy Minister for Tackling Poverty (now Wales' First Minister).Activities on the Environment desk included opening of the Wales Coast Path and Wales being first UK country to introduce a charge for single use carrier bags.I was originally brought in to lead on media relations for the swine flu pandemic of 2009, and was a member of the swine flu communications team that won the Permanent Secretary's Special Award 2010.
