Have experience in challenging schools in long term cover with specialism in design technology and in a pastoral / year leader role. I have completed many long term placements with success in each one. During my work within the youth justice I have helped young people many times to discover new hobbies and interests and draw on and expand on their own interests ie gym work and in this I act as a role model plus give advice on healthy living and eating to help them focus and a better quality of life. Whenever faced with a query about something important ie career options we will research together the best possible way forward. I have also managed and maintained quality and worthwhile projects.

I am used to working in various locations with WYJS and have done in previous jobs and careers. I also hold a full clean driving license and road worthy vehicle.

I am fully ICT literate having an interest in computers and new technology, qualified in computer studies and design technology, fully conversant in all Microsoft packages and regularly use IT in my work. This has included presentations, assemblies, writing reports on students, inputting relevant and sensitive information on sims school systems, writing letters to various establishments/parents, using IT (interactive whiteboard) to deliver lessons, etc. I have even developed and used a few programmes to help a school as a whole ie tracking data software, transition data to negate paperwork also.

I have, for the past 15 years worked in many areas of informal and formal education related to young people from housing to youth work, from schools to the voluntary sector and also with the fire service for Warwickshire.I am also currently a civil servant within the probation service on a part time basis.
