A Project Manager with a background in electronic engineering and more than 25 years of management experience in a broad range of other engineering disciplines. This experience was gained within the Defence / Aerospace industry in large multi-national, multi-discipline project teams. Projects have varied in cost between 4M€ to 100M€ and use “phased” product life cycle, effective risk management and resourced schedule processes.As a Principal Project Manager (2016 - 2024) in Space Imaging at Teledyne e2v, he led several successful but challenging projects delivering innovative detectors in to critical programmes such as Sentinel2, Sentinel5, MTG and PLATO.As Head Project Manager (2007 to 2016) for “Force Protection” within Leonardo (formerly Selex ES) he has led a team of project managers to successfully conclude many high risk and innovative programmes producing world-leading products, utilising best practice procedures and review cycles to ensure risks are identified and mitigated..Practiced in managing very diverse technologies, including composite structures, aluminium spark eroded parts, silver-plating, RF & electronic components / circuits, state of the art rapid prototyping technologies alongside more conventional assembly techniques. Products successfully managed include the design, build and test of electronic equipments, electro-mechanical mechanisms, telecommunication antennas and a large metrological satellite platform.A conscientious, dynamic, open-minded leader who actively drives the team to achieve project milestones. A person with experience in managing teams in both a “project” and “matrix” organisational structure utilising co-located teams - always ensuring that communications with project team members and resource managers remains open and effective.
