We worked as internal consultants to help improve the way Microsoft does business to help drive revenue growth, Cost reduction, and NSAT gains. We leveraged a deep set of process improvement tools and methodologies to accelerate business value.I incubated a new Business Application Monitoring (BAM) service as part of our Business Process Optimization service offering. In combination with Six Sigma / Lean approaches we focus on combining Business Process Optimization with Business Intelligence to perform Business Application Monitoring (BAM). During the implementation of a BAM system I create Logical Data Models combined with IDEF0 Process Models to show the relationship between process and data.BAM is essential to the DAMIC approach and can be used create initial Measurements. Analyzing the data collected from BAM allows for better design of improved processes. When digitization was appropriate, I led teams to automated the new process with BAM to measure again. BAM is used during the Control/Sustain phase to measure gains through close monitoring of the business process as they are executed. Show less -

The 40+ person company developed custom applications, reporting solutions, provided Master Data Management, and developer training. Initially worked on resource utilization management dealing with business pipeline, forecasting, burn downs, and staffing. Quickly found that I needed to focus on engineering fundamentals and foster an organization where the team is more connected to each other as well as management. Moved projects into profitability by adding structure and process from the request for proposal to customer close retrospectives. Key areas for improvement have been estimation and managing customer change requests. Much was done through formalizing the use of Visual Studio Team Foundation Server, Project Server, SCRUM, and SharePoint.Later focused on business development, customer relationships, and strategic direction shifting focus from commodity Professional Services to Business Intelligence, Software as a Service, and Cloud Computing consulting. Ultimately the company grew insolvent and shut its doors. Show less -
