My primary focus was on automating processes, containerizing applications, and streamlining deployments, using technologies like Ansible, Docker, and GitHub Actions.I worked on a team-based DevOps project that involved setting up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions. This automated build, testing, and deployment for multiple boilerplate projects, which significantly improved development speed and reliability. Additionally, I collaborated with testers to include unit and integration tests in the pipeline, ensuring the system was thoroughly validated before deployment. We followed a branching strategy where code was merged into a development branch for testing and into the main branch for production.I also set up separate development and production databases on a shared server and integrated a messaging queue system to enable communication between services. These integrations improved the efficiency of the system and ensured smoother project management and communication.In another task, I focused on Dockerizing full stack web applications. I created Dockerfiles to containerize a React frontend and a FastAPI backend, then configured Nginx to proxy both services on the same port. Another key project involved building DevOpsFetch, a tool that retrieves server information like active ports, user logins, Nginx configurations, and Docker statuses. I implemented a systemd service for continuous monitoring and logging, making the tool useful for real-time system analysis. This project enhanced my skills in shell scripting, logging mechanisms, and system monitoring.Throughout the internship, I faced challenges like configuring messaging queues and troubleshooting deployment issues.
