As Head of Engineering I was responsible for all capital projects, Engineering, Facilities, Security and Office functions across the printing business. The business was based over 4 sites and I reported directly to the General Manager.At Trader Media Group I was responsible for developing a new site in Warrington to absorb another site closing. This entailed providing all services to the building and preparing the building structurally to absorb the machinery from the closing site. The project had to be planned to the hour to prevent any delays in product exit times while the machinery was moved.I managed all elements of building maintenance from refurbishment, upkeep, planned maintenance, electrical systems and emergency planning. I have managed Fixed Appliance Testing, Portable Appliance Testing, legionella and asbestos. I have managed all elements of Facilities including cleaning, air conditioning, waste, heating systems, fork lift trucks, gas equipment, vending and catering contracts and pest control.I managed capital programmes of £15 million over my 3 years at Trader Media Group and an annual revenue budget of £4 million.I developed strategies for planned maintenance of buildings, equipment and services and combined fixed and planned maintenance strategies for compressed air, dryers, afterburners, chiller equipment and other process equipment.I worked with structural Engineers, Quantity surveyors and contractors to achieve safe and cost effective delivery of projects worth several £m.I was part of the team that compiled the Business Continuity Plan, creating contingency plans for the most conceivable eventualities including fire, flood, electricity outage etc. I was responsible for ensuring the business meets and complies with legislation regarding plant, buildings and health, safety and environment.
