Research areas: 1. identification of colorectal bio-markers; 2. protein degradation using novel preserving agents; 3. gene expression in hepatic cell-lines; and 4. efficacy and toxicity of superparamagnetic iron oxide nano particles (SPIONs) uptake in mouse macrophages. Results:1. variation in gene expression amongst small cohort;2. preserving agent (Allprotect(RTM)) was effective in the practical preservation of liver tissue for up to 6-months;3. gene expression varied across cell-lines (followed-up with exhaustive iTRAQ data- paper pending);4. SPION uptake was successful with minimal ADR.
