Responsible for defining and leading all WSUK Operational SHE activities including the deployment and implementation of the SHE Policy and Management Systems, SHE objectives and targets, provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control, collation and provision of SHE performance reports, investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements and, the provision of an effective interface with regulators and representatives dealing with liability issues. This includes onsite, offsite and overseas arrangements.

As part of the Project Management function, responsible for manufacturing programmes for medium and large caliber barrel contracts and support for M777 buffer refurbishment and retrofit programmes. Specific tasks include but were not limited to:• Developing, monitoring and maintaining project schedules• Prepare monthly contract review packs• Ensure all activities were undertaken in accordance with appropriate quality standards• Chair/attend multi-functional internal meetings• Representing the Company at customer review meetings• Supporting Finance and Project Control teams • Supporting the Business Winning Organisation

As part of the Operations function, responsible for all aspects of site Safety, Health and Environmental Management. Specific tasks included:• Identifying, assessing and reducing the sites SHE risks• Maintaining accreditation to ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 Management Systems• Reviewing legislation and advising all employees of appropriate measures • Auditing and reporting on SHE performance• Writing and reviewing SHE policy and procedure documents • Arrangements regarding licensing and registrations• Advising on all SHE training requirements

Implemented ISO 14001 and further developed and maintained the site SHE Business Management System.

Production of Safety and Environmental Management Plans and Safety Cases in support of Weapons and Vehicles Systems.

Responsible for the managing, promoting and co-ordination of Land Systems (W&V) environmental undertaking across six sites of approximately 1,500 employees.
