The first thing you should know about me is that my real enjoyment, and the reason I work so hard, is to help people and make a difference. I believe that no task or project I accomplish is my accomplishment alone, I have a lot of really talented people around me to lean on for advice and help. I really enjoy helping people find their best selves and that drives me to work harder. When someone I am helping succeeds, it makes me work harder to help more people succeed.I have been working for the city of Salem IT department for over 5 years now and I enjoy going to work everyday. I have now completed the remodel of the library which was an 18 month project. I oversaw the power, data, door security, security cameras, audio/video, and many other tasks. I have had the enjoyment of working through some of the challenges that have come up from the remodel which has adjusted some of the technology and how it is used. I have an associates degree in computer network operations from Lane Community College. I have a Bachelor's and a Masters degree in business with a focus in IT Management. I have completed a Cisco and Microsoft Academy training at UCC which I achieved four certificates, Server Administrator, Microsoft Network Support Technician, Cisco Network Security Support Tech and Cisco Network Support Tech. I have acquired a lot of knowledge and experience from my position with the City of Salem IT department, Douglas County, Egghead Computer, Computer Solutions, Bi-Mart and more. I’m a seasoned computer tech, leader and mentor. I have a lot of experience streamlining business processes and making them more efficient. My expertise is in computers, software and hardware but my passion is in leadership. I have had the privilege of running several IT projects. Moving the city Library to a temporary building, getting all employees working from home during the Covid-19 pandemic, updating all data and electronics in the Library building for the seismic retrofit and overseeing the upgrade of the Douglas County Sheriff and Dispatch software and hardware. I believe a great IT manager has the ability to lead staff and not manage them. I say lead as opposed to manage because if done correctly all of your employees will look to you for leadership and not just instructions. I have found that through my work experience and formal education, I feel truly humbled to be where I am and ready to move forward with my career goals and lead in an IT environment.
