With over 25 plus years of writing and research, 20 plus years of political advocacy and 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, I am a passionate and effective public policy specialist and strategic advisor who advocates for regenerative agriculture and climate solutions. My mission is to build a healthy, holistic food system that protects our natural environment, sustains farmers, and nourishes families. I currently work with organic and regenerative farmers, public officials, nonprofits, and leading agencies, organizations and companies that educate and empower individuals and communities to restore soil resilience and improve human and planetary health. Prior to working as a consultant for farmers, non-profits, elected officials and AgTech startups, I was the founder and executive director of Food Democracy Now!, a grassroots community that grew to more than 650,000 members in less than 7 years. I played an important role in educating the public about the harms of giant food monopolies, unfair market conditions against farmers, pesticide residues in food, and helped lead the national debate and legislative and ballot initiative battles for GMO labeling. I also helped write and pass the nation's first GMO labeling laws in Connecticut and Maine in 2013. Through my work, I developed and honed skills in public policy, nonprofit management, fundraising, political advocacy, and communication.
