Responsible for assisting the Facilities Division administrative staff and design professionals in ensuring quality work, conformance with contract documents, schedule attainment and cost control for construction of school facilities. Serves as the liaison between the field and the Facilities Division for all assigned projects. Acts as the intermediary between the Facilities Services office and school personnel. Develops and maintains an atmosphere of cooperation and effective relationships between all parties. Responsible for the timely completion of all assigned projects. Assists in scheduling and coordinating all test and inspection agencies who participate in the construction process. Responsible for reviewing all reports and making recommendations accordingly.

Assists in evaluating, and when necessary, supervises maintenance projects. Directs, through Maintenance Services supervisors, the development of projects concerning maintenance costs, time to complete work, and priorities. Assists with the development of the maintenance budget for school plants and reviews manpower according to needs and establishes the standards of performance. Coordinates maintenance programs and projects with the various operating departments of the school system. Initiates research regarding cost studies and procedures for maintenance projects.
