About David Murphy

I am a second career educator that came from the business sector, and I originally believed my entrance into education was simply by chance. However, I later found my new vocation to be more than chance; it was a calling! I entered the classroom in the fall of 2001, and I have served in various capacities since that time. I am a life-long resident of Union County and count it both a blessing and privilege to invest in Union County’s youth just as others invested in me.I obtained a Bachelors in Production/Operations Management (1992), a Post-Baccalaureate in Education (2003), a Masters of Education in Middle Grades Mathematics and Social Studies (2005), an Education Specialist in Teacher Leadership (2007), endorsements in P-12 Leadership (2008) and Gifted Education (2010), and I am currently enrolled in a Doctorate in Educational Leadership program at Georgia Southern University . I was named Union County Schools Teacher of the Year in 2012, and I have served as a teacher, department chair, system-level safety coordinator, principal, a district-level administrator, and now as an Assistant Superintendent.
