I assisted by supporting Action Aid partner Organizations, urban and rural poor population by increasing their capacity and voice to effectively engage and demand action and influence change of unfavourable policies, Influencing formulation and implementation of policies that are in favour the pro PoorOrganized the Tax Justice campaign in Bagamoyo district to raise awareness of land grabbing and undervaluation of the peoples land, disseminated report findings of the gross misappropriation of resources of public resources, poor services, under staffing in government in hospitals and schools, generated enthusiasm of the local communities to support accountability work, raised Bagamoyo challenges to national level among others. I also sought support from local partners and influential personalities. I provided technical support and guidance in enhancing the capacity of the Bagamoyo Local Right Program (LRP) staff and partner Civil Society Organizations (CSO’s) Tax Justice, Advocacy and Campaign. I sought to enhance their skills in conducting advocacy of any issues that arose. I mentored and coached them in problem identification, developing a solution, building of political will, deriving possible policy options and evaluation to gauge success or on. I also guided the staff and civil society organizations on conducting research before undertaking and advocacy.
