This required hiring and/or promoting 12 government employees, purchasing new equipment for updated capabilities (weapons & electronics repair), and coordinating with contractors for design input, space allocation, electrical and mechanical lay outs. (3) I manage an annual budget of repair parts of over $500,000. I also coordinate the purchase of equipment with an average price tag of over $75,000. (4) I set internal maintenance priorities and ensure work flow is efficient and effective.(5) I manage the maintenance and logistics programs of 9 units and organizations. This includes ensuring all equipment such as weapons, vehicles, and radios are serviced on an annual basis, equipment is properly calibrated on a strict schedule, and hazardous material is disposed of properly.(6) Internally, I ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT.In summary, I am in charge of an ongoing, complex facility that supports several types of units (to include infantry, aviation, communication, and logistical support companies) with ever changing priorities. I was responsible for the logistical planning and coordination of all of the signal battalion's equipment movement from New York to Texas via tractor-trailer and then to Afghanistan via aircraft.This involved: (1) Coordinating with New York State Headquarters, Logistics director, and various maintenance facilities to secure over $1 million of funding for repair parts, military equipment, containers, and transportation assets from New York State to Mobilization Station.(2)… Show more I was responsible for the logistical planning and coordination of all of the signal battalion's equipment movement from New York to Texas via tractor-trailer and then to Afghanistan via aircraft.This involved: (1) Coordinating with New York State Headquarters, Logistics director, and various maintenance facilities to secure over $1 million of funding for repair parts, military equipment, containers, and transportation assets from New York State to Mobilization Station.(2) Projecting, requesting and managing a $170,000 budget of funding to hire personnel to support all logistical requirements.(3) Planning, coordinating and tracking the shipment of over $50 million worth of equipment to include vehicles, containers, satellites, generators, weapons, and baggage from New York to Texas via tractor-trailer; with a total transportation cost of over $400,000. This required detail load planning to optimize available tractor trailers, identifying which trailers required additional security requirements for sensitive shipments, and planning for licensed forklift and hazardous material shipment certifier support. (4) Planning, allocating resources, and executing the movement of equipment from Texas to Afghanistan via aircraft. Assets required to accomplish this move was 10 total aircraft with a transportation cost of over $10 million.
