I work to help the families who've moved to the Generations of Hope community in Rantoul, Illinois to adopt children into a loving and permanent home from the Illinois Foster Care System. Because of my work background, I tend to concentrate my efforts in helping with the administrative activities of running the organization. To that end, I serve on a number of committees in an effort to do what we can to provide the best living environment in the community. Being a real believer in the Catholic Church and the doctrines of the faith, we endeavor to provide a loving environment for the families and other seniors who reside in the neighborhood, in support of all of the residents.

The Developmental Center provided special education, therapy and other related services to preschool age children with disabilities in a 14,000 square mile county in a rural, isolated, special education program. Over the twenty one years that I directed the program, I was responsible to the Board of Directors for a special education, speech, physical, and occupational therapy program for preschoolers with physical and mental disabilities. The program grew dramatically over these years. By the time that I left it, we employed a staff of thirty five very qualified and dedicated professionals, including special education teachers and aides, as well as speech therapists, occupational and physical therapists and administrative staff. By the conclusion of my employment, we served about 150 preschoolers in one of the largest county-wide programs in the country on a daily basis.

During my tenure in the Navy, I worked as a Radioman for a number of years, advancing in rank and responsibility prior to my promotion to Warrant Officer (in the communication field) and finally as a Lieutenant Junior Grade Limited Duty Officer - also in the communication field) I served the Vietnamese Navy as a Naval Adviser in Saigon during the Vietnam War. The increasingly more difficult job became more technical throughout my 16 year career in the field. Supervisory responsibilities became more challenging as time went on.
