Accountable for the development and delivery of high standard clinical services in Integrated MSK services by providing strong, effective leadership, that hold patients and their families at the centre to ensure that they receive safe, high quality care that gives them a good experience.

• Single point accountability for the management of Pathology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Wheelchair, Mortuary, Bereavement and Chaplaincy services.• The services include 410 WTE staff with a budget of £19M.• All aspects of financial, human and physical resource management. • All aspects of clinical, scientific and quality management in all disciplines of Pathology.• Information technology management.• Laboratory & Quality Accreditation and standards.• All aspects of Equal Employment Opportunity and Occupational,Health, Safety & Rehabilitation. • Clinical Studies coordination (Good Clinical Practice Trained)• Deputise for General Manager, D&O.• Designated Individual for Human Tissue Authority (HTA).

• Accountable for the delivery of the Directorate’s objectives by providing the leadership, drive and direction to ensure delivery. • Develop, deliver, monitor and improve services within the Directorate, meeting all national and local targets and delivering best quality patient care and experience within financial control, resources and targets. • Agree the strategic direction and objectives of the Directorate by leading the Business Planning process on behalf of the Directorate and translating the Trust’s Strategic Goals into operational plans through continuous service improvement into everyday practice.• As a Senior Manager within a Foundation Trust, responsible for translating Department of Health (Best practice guidance) and commissioning intentions as part of setting the direction of travel for the clinical activities of the Directorate. The Directorate will be managed as an independent business unit.• Foster a culture which encourages innovation, empowermentaccountability whilst engaging with their workforce to seek improvement. • Be an advocate of the Trust Values at all times whilst incorporatingthese in to the role.

• Responsible for the financial, HR, Quality and Asset resource management for the Directorate including all surgical services and associated specialties, Intensive Care and Chaplaincy.• Responsible for Business and strategic planning.• Waiting list management and delivery of RTT targets.

• Review and implement complaints management process for Directorate.• Lead reduced length of stay/bed modelling project• Undertake secretarial/admin review.• Provide performance monitoring. Support and improvement for the Directorate.• Review and improve risk management/register.• Participate in all Business & performance aspects of the Directorate.
