Human Resources Generalist
Current• Assist applicants with completion of security and cleaning applications.• Verify validity of applicants’ IDs, certifications, and licenses.• Review applicants’ applications for incomplete and missing paperwork.• Perform background checks on applicants.• Complete and file I-9 forms.• Hire new employees.• Complete E-Verify for each new hire.• File employee folders.• Terminate employees in human resources information system.• Update human resources information system, employees’ electronic files, and physical files. • Verify employees’ eligibility to apply for Disability, FMLA, or PFL benefits.• Complete, review, and submit employees’ Disability or PFL applications to insurance carrier.• File employees’ Disability, FMLA, or PFL applications.• Follow up with medical providers to determine employees’ return to work dates from disability or extension of disability benefits.• Follow up with employees when they failed to report to work.• Reply to the NYS Dept. of Labor unemployment notices and attend phone hearings.• Track employees’ completion of NYS Dept. of Labor sexual harassment training.• Answer employees’ questions regarding benefits such as sick days, clinic days, personal days, bereavement, and vacation.• Complete benefit entitlements for QPS and QBS employees based on union and non-union contracts.• Add and remove security officers from QPS’s NYS security officer roster.• Onboard exempt employees and enter them in human resources information system.• Collect NDA’s from office staff.• Train and supervise HR assistant.• Update employees' completed scaffolding certification trainings on rig certification spreadsheet.• Perform reports and audits for both QPS and QBS.• Enter employee’s pay increases.
