Taking on the position of Purchasing Manager at Feridax, the role required full evaluation of processes and improvements to systems. From small changes to ETA visibilities in ERP through to building processes for Brexit, including approval of AEO status.The role includes purchasing stock from a global supply base of motorcycle protective clothing, boots helmets and accessories for our own brand Spada as well as Shoei, Sidi, Caberg, EBC, NGK, Yuasa and WD-40 to name a few. Supplier selection, review of contracts, supply chain management, Customs management, reporting, stock forecasting and team management is also part of the role.Joining Feridax as Covid took hold in the UK put pressure on myself and the Feridax supply chain. My first task was to hold stock shipments and then forecast any implications to our supply chain. I put in place processes to manage Brexit together with obtaining AEO status to allow Feridax the ability to have Bonded Warehousing and to fast track imports into the UK.I’ve put in place processes to tighten stock purchases and stock management together with writing full team manual to be used in conjunction with AEO and Customs requirements.I take part in supplier visits and trade fairs in Europe and further afield to select suppliers and to negotiate contracts/agree strategies for future seasons.My role also allows me to develop Spada helmets for our own range, from open-face to full-face, entry level to ‘everywear’.

Working alongside the Managing Director, my responsibilities included purchases for all stock and services for BlissHome. Main commodities of purchase were ceramic and textile kitchenwares but I also purchased furniture, lighting and accessories.Purchasing from factories in China and Portugal as well as distribution from the USA; my roll was to select items to purchase, shipping, Customs clearance, admin, reporting and further export if the sales team required.I also managed internal IT systems together with external agency. My role allowed me to improve systems at BlissHome by upgrading the ERP to digital warehousing and automated shipping.

Connect Distribution Services catalogue consists of spares and finished white and brown goods which are purchased from all corners of the world but mostly Far East and Turkey. Manufactures of white and brown goods use Connect Distribution Services as a spares centre for their appliances so that a speedy repair can be obtained in the event of a failure. AchievementsRecruited and expanded the original Supply Chain Team to ensure agreed company targets are exceeded. Improved standards and processes within the team to ensure updated information is available to all departments within the company.

BirminghamI started at Mobile Fun as the Senior Buyer. I was the only buyer within the company to start off with but as the business grew more resources were needed to keep up with customer demand, and in time I became the Purchasing Manager as I took on more staff. My responsibility was to procure all stocks needed for resale through the website. With over 5000 product lines my range covered lines such as mobile phone accessories, Bluetooth products, GPS and USB gadgets. My responsibilities included achieving agreed targets through KPIs and objectives, establishing and maintaining key relationships with suppliers, ensuring optimum service levels, analysing trends to deliver effective internal and external stock management within the supply chain and to develop and manage a small team to ensure a professional purchasing service is given.

ASI Computer PlcHunt End,Redditch.Working as a Purchasing Assistant in a busy mini bus seat manufacturing company I was responsible for looking after the purchasing requisitions from the metal shop and the trim shop. I purchased items from within the UK and abroad. I looked after the day-to-day running of all admin in the purchasing office and all IT within the company, from fixing known bugs to backing up the server.I was responsible for purchasing computer components for the manufacture of pc's and servers. I operated a just-in-time system, managing stock levels to ensure they were kept to a minimum. I was also responsible for updating the in-house database for the sales and production teams.
