The Head of Controls, Compliance & Ethics is a leader within the Controls, Compliance and Ethics function in EABL. The role bears responsibility for the Control Assurance and risk Management (CARM) framework, compliance with the Code of Business Conduct and Policies, Risk Management, and Breach Management. Also served as the Head of Control Assurance, a role that drove a programme of activities to strengthen the control environment within EABL entities, through an agreed schedule of reviews and deep dives into areas of risk and opportunities, executed by a team of auditors and senior auditors.

The role involved delivering a series of treasury and tax initiatives aimed at improving the shape of the Group's funding position and increasing the tax efficiency of the Group. Key projects delivered included the formulation of a long term funding plan for the Group and a number of its subsidiaries, issuance of EABL's inaugural Commercial Paper and Medium Term Note Programmes and working towards more diversified sources of funding for the Group. In addition, the role involved providing oversight to EABL's direct tax (corporation tax and transfer pricing) agenda.
