David Joshua Okon hails from Afia Nsit Urua Nko in Nsit Ibom LGA of Akwa Ibom State. He is a graduate of Public Administration and a Diploma holder in Social Work and Community Development. I started my journey towards contributing my fair portion to save humanity from the day the founder of Women & Community Livelihood Foundation invited me to support in taking pictures during an inaugural meeting with other groups of women whom she taught might share the same vision with her, at St John Primary School, Abak Road, Uyo. Unfortunately, when the journey became tough, demanding resources, and time consuming, they all stopped along the away. I was the only person offering to volunteer my services from 2007 to 2010 without any form of payment (Three years), to provide services to the less privileged in the society. Currently, I am working as a Program Manager at Heal the Land Initiative in Nigeria (HELIN) implementing Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA Lot 1) funded by USAID through Center for Clinical Care & Clinical Research Nigeria. WORK ACHIEVEMENTS As a Program Manager, I have supervised and led teams to successfully deliver the following projects:- Community Based Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (CUBS project) where OVC were given educational, nutritional, health, psychosocial and shelter support.- HIV/AIDS Intervention programs with an OVC component. A project funded by Centre for Disease Control through International Centre for AIDS Care and Treatment Programs (ICAP)- Successfully implemented the HIV/AIDS Intervention program with the OVC component by Center for Integrated Health Programs (CIHP)- Successfully implemented the Global Fund for OVC project where OVC infected and affected by HIV/AIDS were given care and support. - Successfully implemented the Global Fund Project for AIDS, TB and Malaria.- Successfully implemented the HIV/AIDS FUNDS (HAF 11) projects funded by World Bank- Successfully implemented with the WOCLIF team Strengthening Integrated Delivery of HIV/AIDS Services (SIDHAS)- Successfully implemented the OVC LOPIN 2 projects funded by USAID through WEWE.- Successfully consult for financial management for OVC LOPIN 1 projects funded by USAID through ARFH from July, 2018 to December, 2018.- Successfully implemented the OVC LOPIN 3 projects funded by USAID through HIFASS from April, 2019 to December, 2019.I am currently managing the team with the largest target beneficiaries of 41,500 in Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA) in Uyo.
