I'm a little obsessed about the world we live in today, and you will notice I tend to mostly post about geopolitical and macro economic issues. I cut my teeth in UK politics, learning my trade while being chained to a photocopier and fax machine (remember them?). I then became a Public Affairs consultant (some call is lobbying, but its really quite a bit more than that), before heading up Global Public & Government Affairs for Cadbury, which was bought by Kraft in a hostile takeover, and which in turn became Mondelez International. Along the way, I developed strategies for managing systemic issues for a major CPG like its response to obesity, ethical commodity sourcing and its tax strategy. I also helped on some interesting crises, like our entire Russian Leadership Team being threatened with arrest, or the WannaCry malware attack. I managed our Brussels Office (best office ever, above an artisan chocolate shop looking down the Petit Sablon) as well as DC (the US' most underrated city). I was also a senior leader on the Northern Europe LT which included the UK, Irish and Scandinavian markets. This lit my parallel interest in Executive Coaching and Leadership. I left MDLZ in 2018 after opting not to move to Singapore, and moving with my family to Toronto, Canada after my wife took a senior role here. I now run my own business which focuses on Geopolitical Strategy, and Executive Coaching & Development (ICF Accredited), two things which I find are two increasingly connected worlds.
