Profile bio

About David Opitz

I am a motivated mechanical engineer with a biomedical background. Currently, I am looking for a full-time position in biomedical or mechanical engineering. Some of my fields of interest include alternative/renewable energy, HVAC systems, and component manufacturing/design; however, I am open to different opportunities. My background in biomedical engineering developed my critical thinking and analytical skills to tackle various problems. Along the way, I became proficient using MATLAB and Microsoft Office to perform numerical analysis as well as other miscellaneous tasks. Most importantly, I distinguished myself from my peers through my strong communication skills that enabled me to break down complex ideas into basic components and relay information efficiently.Over the course of my academic career, I’ve also improved my leadership and time management skills, since I had to balance rigorous school work with extracurricular activities. Some of these include being a director in a pre-medical organization, mentoring multiple students, and volunteering at a retirement home.Outside of school, I like to exercise, read books, cook, and learn new skills. I am teaching myself Python and SolidWorks in my spare time.
