It took me a while to get there myself but everyone should make it their career goal to find a job that makes you happy, a company that appreciates you and a team you can trust. I love working for a company where I wake up on a Monday morning and enjoy going to work.I’ve been lucky in my career to have naturally progressed into management. It’s not something I pursued and in those early days I had doubts but when you lead a team, see it grow, develop and flourish, no matter what happens in your working day you can go home with a sense of achievement. Prior to becoming a manager I didn’t have that and I wish I’d pursued a management role sooner. I’ve been fortunate to work amongst some great mentors who have challenged me to always be better. To always strive for more and to push myself. Mentors who believe in putting your staff first. Building a team of people who are better than you and supporting each other, no matter rank or role.
