About David Ott
I am a proven Leader with a superb record of performance across multiple sectors. Early in my military career, I was introduced to Tom Peters' “Thriving on Chaos”. It described the military, specifically, Naval Aviation to a tee. I developed an immediate appreciation for Tom as his approach accurately described my early successes. The military loves hierarchical structures. 1’s are Admin/Pers, 2’s are Intel, 3’s are Ops and so on. I always found working across the directorates (numbers) versus vertically (through the numbers) solved problems much more effectively with a much quicker “flash to bang” or solution time. I never told anyone, I just did it. Maybe that’s the Choctaw in me. What I consistently found was that the approach always built hi-performance teams with the agility to quickly and effectively solve full-spectrum “opportunities”…opportunities as Amazon would use the word. If you want some of this, then come find me. I am always open to hear of new opportunities. If you prefer to stick with the status quo, then I am probably not a good fit. I am quite fond of a quote by GEN Eric Shinseki, former U.S. Army Chief of Staff, “If you don’t like change, you’ll like irrelevance even less”. Total team solutions are proven winners. Know your Mission; Know Your People; and Gang-Tackle the Tough Problems. See you out there!
