Global Logistics CoordinatorModloft Jul 2021 - Jun 2022Medellín, Antioquia, ColombiaOriginally, I worked as the sole team member of the global logistics department but soon that evolved into the senior member of the global logistics team as three new staff members have joined in 2022. This role relied on me acting as the mouth and ears for our international factories and North American warehouses. Working across various time-zones and locations from Asia, Europe and South America, this role and my current managerial title is dependent on me providing accurate, concrete and up to date information for our factories to ensure time is not lost between cargo readiness and cargo collection. We mainly work within FOB and EXW incoterms and our team act as the keystone and link between the Production and Fulfilment teams. Focusing on multi-team communications, I constantly explored how my actions have knock-on effects for the various departments at Modloft so that we work as one unit and not individual silos. Seeing how the pandemic has altered the supply chain environment, my experiences within international logistics have been a baptism on fire and resulted in me having to learn quickly and efficiently on how to deal with Steam Shipping Lines, NVOCCs and drayage providers. Working with various 3PL transportation companies from warehouse to final mile delivery as well as returns for both LTL and small parcel products means I have vast experience in dealing with the varying demands of our clients. From my experience, the choosing of the best delivery service was only of value if we ensure that the Customer Support team as well as us in Transportation were unified in our messages and communications otherwise, we would end up providing conflicting info and causing customer frustration. Working from home due to the pandemic our virtual interactions had to be precise, effective and accurate. Identifying problems as soon as possible was key to show our clients that we had a sense of control or planning and care for their purchases.
