In addition to my day to day duties of opening and closing palace routes, ensuring they are ready for the visitors and dealing with various issues arising during the day I undertake the preparation and training for various tours, both during the day and out of hours. I conduct tours myself and am a Guide Lecturer, qualified with the Institute of Tourist Guiding. I have taken part in every season of our sell out Ghost Tours and helped with the challenging task of developing and deliver our (18 certificate) Salacious Gossip Tours. I’ve taken VIP tours for folk from Joan Rivers, Christian Bale and Stanley Tucci to the Crown Prince of Thailand and various diplomatic, military and political figures. Overall I have a decade of experience taking tours for groups great and small, wearing uniform, civvies or historical costume. I also work closely with the excellent folk at Past Pleasures making sure our costumed live interpretation runs smoothly and have even spent some very enjoyable time in costume with them. Last year I was, along with Mark Wallis of PP, retained by the RSC as historical advisor on their adaptation of Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies for the stage.
