My career to date spans many roles as a civil and public servant. Those I have particularly enjoyed include food and agricultural marketing, developing and running environmental and rural development schemes, business transformation and change, IT systems development, contract negotiation, supplier relationship management and bringing a customer focus to the delivery of ICT services. In my current role I am working closely with teams across Defra, providing the ICT services that are enabling Defra's business transformation. Ultimately this will enable Defra to deliver its important outcomes for our natural environment, protecting our wildlife and our homes from flooding, and enhancing and conserving our natural environment for all to enjoy.Specialties: project management, people management, business transformation, customer service, contract negotiation and management, business and supplier relationship management, environmental services, business change, facilitation, public administration

As Defra's CIO, I lead the engagement between Defra's Digital, Data and Technology Services team and the wider Defra group. My stakeholders include a number of Defra's delivery bodies, responsible for delivering vital outcomes for our natural environment and improvements for nature. Our aim is to leave the environment in a better place for future generations. Utilising innovations in technology and adopting a digital by default approach to delivery, I have developed partnerships across Defra to transform the services we provide for citizens, industry and ultimately the environment.
