After Fred Meyer merged with Smith's Food & Drug Centers, I transferred to Fred Meyer HQ to help with consolidation reporting and SEC filings. Assisted in the merger activities with several supermarket companies and the acquisition by Kroger. Through this process I was asked to lead several accounting functions for the Kroger West operation, some across subsidiaries and some for Fred Meyer Stores only.

Directed the internal audit, internal and external financial reporting, and SEC filing functions of a public company. Hired to be part of the team that took the company public in 1989. Coordinated efforts on the company’s initial public offering and secondary equity offering. Facilitated the operation of several committees of the board of directors. Managed numerous internal audits resulting in improved accountability, more efficient internal controls, and realized cost savings.

Directly responsible for the timely and efficient execution and completion of audit engagements of various sizes and in a variety of industries. Started as a staff person and worked up to Audit Manager. Responsible for assessing the impact of computer processing on audit procedures for all audits clients.
