As one of the founding members of Centra Homes, I work with municipalities, land brokers, and real estate developers to identify under-performing real estate assets and convert them into successful for-sale housing solutions. In collaboration with city councils and planning commissions, my team and I help municipalities find creative solutions to challenging properties, in coordination with various government agencies and federal wetland entities, to fulfill the vision of the planners and developers and produce high-quality housing within the allotted budget.At times, site or market conditions may require us to think outside the box to come up with solutions that maintain the vision within any constraints that may exist. For instance, in preparing for a recent project, a portion of the available area was found to have substandard materials in the soil, due to a previously filled-in creek. We floated several options, including the suggestion of a recreational water area that could serve as a retention pond. As it turned out, this solution solved run-off problems in other parts of the city, as well. It’s this kind of creative problem-solving that excites and motivates me. Tackling challenges, being a part of the negotiations, developing neighborhood and home designs, and seeing a final, tangible product gives me a sense of satisfaction. It’s important for me to know that I am using my expertise to help make life better for others.Doing things not done before and finding niches in the market has been my secret to business growth, even in down markets. During the real estate market crash of 2008-2010, I helped increase home sales at Woodside by 70% while the local market decreased by 50% by creative, proactive action.
