I actively participate in the creation and implementation of licensing and certification processes, ensuring that only qualified individuals can practice their profession.My responsibilities involve overseeing the conducting of comprehensive assessments of applicants' qualifications, education, and experience to determine their eligibility for professional registration and licensure in British Columbia. I review and evaluate professional development programs and continuing education requirements, ensuring professionals stay up to date with the latest industry and professional advancements.As a professional regulator, Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia conduct investigations and disciplinary proceedings when there are concerns about professional misconduct, incompetence, or breaches of ethical standards. As the Registrar, I ensure fair and impartial processes are followed, and appropriate sanctions are imposed when necessary, including disciplinary actions or revocation of professional licenses.Additionally, I actively engage in outreach initiatives to educate the public and raise awareness about the importance of professional regulation.
